No, the VA no longer requires a VA Builder ID. However, depending on your state rules you may be requred to be licensed and insured to meet standard eligibility requirements to work with lenders offering VA construction loans.
Builders typically need to provide:
Proof of license (depending on state rules) and general liability insurance
A basic builder profile or application form
Project plans and specs for the home being built
Evidence of past completed projects
The lender manages the draw schedule and disburses funds as construction milestones are completed and verified through inspections. You’ll work closely with the borrower and lender throughout the process to submit draw requests and keep the project moving.
